A 24-year-old boy who killed a pedestrian, while the other was in critical named Puneet Puneet, an Indian boy, was now being captured after a car crashed when he drove drunk in 2008 within Melbourne. Puneet Puneet

He skipped out 4 years ago from a sentencing hearing due to culpable driving in 2009. He was driving at high speeds at the time he hit and killed the 19-year-old Dean Hofstee, and the 20-year-old Clancy Coker who was seriously injured in Melbourne Southbank last October 1st 2008. Last year, police issued a $100,000 reward for searching  Puneet and take him to justice.

Puneet’s father, Naresh Rawel, said that his son has escaped Australia because he was frightened for his life.

He said at Fairfax Media, “He fled because there was a danger to his life there. He was beaten and tortured.”

He also said that his son’s laptops as well as his other things were snatched. Because of the situation, it forces him to escape as he did not have any choice.

Mr Rawel believes that Indians were treated differently in Australia.

“I do not think he will be safe there. He is not an accused, he is a victim.”

The accidents which his son was involved was a fault. However, many Indians were killed in Australia but no one cares about them. The government of Indian does nothing to rescue them, according to Mr Rawel. His family was devastated.

Puneet’s  mother is currently in a state of shock, wanting her son back. Puneet Puneet is an only son, and his family depends on his fortune.

The Victoria Police said it will be depend upon to Indian authorities to decide whether Puneet will  be extradited to Australia.

This week, Puneet is expected to be in India’s face court.
